Yielding to his strong business instincts, Cesar Debbas parts from a long line of craftsmen to establish "Le Grand Magasin D'Electricité" in Souk El Gamil, Beirut. The shop developed in the direction of commerce and it quickly began selling a wide range of new and innovative products.

Post WWI development efforts and the ambition of the Beirut fair proved to be favorable for Cesar Debbas, as he secured his first lighting installation contracts through his new "electric installation and repair department."

Commercial success revived Cesar Debbas' craftsman gene as he set up his first chandelier workshop to manufacture his own designs including the famous "Eternelle" which sold impressively from Cyprus to Iraq. Simultaneously, Debbas launched his own brand of electric light bulbs: the famous "Eternelle".

With peace came prosperity and the operations of Debbas resumed with redoubled vigor. Cesar decided it was time to pass the reigns to his eldest son Antoine, who set out to build the future of the company.

After incorporating the business as "Cesar Debbas & Fils", Antoine Debbas traveled to attend the International fairs of Hanover and Milan during which he secured exclusive distributorship agreements with some of the most important European lighting companies.

When Fouad and Robert joined Antoine, the "Brothers Light" succeeded in securing their first international contract in Saudi Arabia. Large electrical contracts would follow as well as expansions in the form of a factory and a large showroom in Hamra, Beirut.

Growth brought about major changes in the form of 4 new companies, a new headquarter, a state-of-the-art factory, and a string of international projects including the lighting of the pilgrimage site in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

With the acquisition and establishment of a number of companies and factories in France, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, the company was restructured into Debbas Holding.

Debbas Holding was awarded some of the largest electrical and mechanical contracts of post-war Beirut. The new era brought about more growth in the form of companies in Syria and Hungary as well as a quest for excellence illustrated by the first ISO 9000 certification awarded to a company in Lebanon.
